4 Ways to Get Better Sleep Tonight

We are all so busy these days.  One thing that can take a back seat on our priority list is getting ample sleep.  A good night’s sleep is a huge factor in our mental and physical health.

Read on for 4 easy tips you can implement today to sleep better tonight:

1. Relaxing Warm Bath or Shower

Begin your bedtime routine about 2 hours before going to sleep. Start is by taking a warm bath or shower.  It is a great way to wash the day away and signal your body that it is time to start winding down.

2. Tart Cherry Juice

Consider forgoing that glass of wine in the evening and sip on a glass of organic (montmorency) tart cherry juice. Tart cherry juice is a natural anti-inflammatory that is antioxidant rich.  Along with other health benefits, tart cherry juice naturally increases melatonin production, which may help you sleep better and more soundly.

3. Lavender Essential Oils

Lavender is one of the most popular of essential oils, and there is good reason for that. It has antibacterial and antioxidant properties and is known to calm the mind and relax the body.  Try adding a good quality organic lavender essential oil to your Wise Owl Organics East African Shea Butter.  Make sure your essential oil is topical and can be applied in the area that you want to apply it.  Take a small portion of East African Shea Butter and mix in a couple drops of lavender oil and apply to your body as you would lotion.

4. Ambient Noise

Turning on a sound machine before you go to bed not only helps to create a routine, it can mask indoor or outdoor background noises, and help you sleep more deeply. One way to create a ambient noise source is by adding a fan to your bedroom.  Or, you can download a white noise app.  We recommend the white noise app by TMSOFT for Android and iPhone.  The app can be especially helpful when traveling so you can sleep better when you are not at home.

Sweet dreams!
