In the winter our skin pays a price. We cover our feet with socks and don’t see our toes for months. At Wise Owl Organics, we recommend a weekly DIY pedicure to keep your feet looking and feeling great all winter long. For the best results, do this before bedtime so your feet can absorb all the benefits while you sleep.
How to do a simple at-home pedicure:
To give yourself the perfect winter pedicure, begin by assembling all the essential tools. You will need a soaking basin (or bathtub), a good quality soap (bath salt or body wash), an exfoliator (foot file, pumice stone, or loofah), nail clippers and file, an organic moisturizer such as Wise Owl Organics East African Shea Butter, and a pair of cotton socks.
Step 1: Start by removing any polish on your toenails. Winter is the perfect time to give your toenails a breather from nail polish.
Step 2: Fill a basin or bathtub with warm water and soap. Soak your feet for about 10 minutes. Sit back and relax.
Step 3: Using an exfoliator of your choice, gently scrub your feet paying extra attention to the dry areas, calluses, and heels. Rinse and dry your feet.
Step 4: Clip your toenails and file to your desired length and shape.
Step 5: Give yourself a nice foot massage with our Wise Owl Organics East African Shea Butter, giving special attention to cracked heels and dry cuticles. A little goes a long way. This extra moisturizing, nutrient-rich, organic shea butter is the perfect treat to renew your dry winter feet.
Step 6: Finish by putting on a pair of cotton socks. In the morning, your feet will feel soft and refreshed.
Repeat this simple DIY pedicure once a week for the rest of the winter and your feet will be sandal ready in no time.
